Staff Accountant at WorldVenture

Position Summary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing the accounting and professional client services (including creation of budgets, review, and analysis) for an assigned number of global workers and special projects. The Staff Accountant is also responsible for assigned general ledger and fund accounting, reconciliations, financial analysis, and special project reporting. The Staff Accountant reports to the Treasurer and provides financial support to the Global Initiatives Division to deliver fund reports and timely service to global workers, field offices, and directors.
Position Responsibilities:

Prepares entries for assigned funds and documents business transactions with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Prepares necessary month-end entries
Analyzes financial information to prepare fund budgets, reports, and periodic statements
Reconciles corporate-level and fund-level assets, liabilities, and capital
Prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports regarding organizational financial position
Oversees, prepares, and accounts for International worker budgets and transitions
Oversees and manages daily inquiries from assigned International Workers
Provides special project assistance to the Treasurer, and others in the department as needed
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Skilled in administrative functions
Knowledge of computer systems required (Ex: MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Experience learning new software systems highly desirable
Detail oriented and organized
Capable of prioritizing multiple projects
Personal initiative, creative and innovative thinker
Flexible and adaptable to change, unexpected demands, and interruptions

Education or Formal Training:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Management preferred
2 – 4 years’ experience preferred; recent graduate will be considered
Work Environment/Physical Activities:

Office environment
Annual travel of two to four weeks may be required
