The manager at Seven Corners Coffee is responsible for managing the operations of the business with a staff team of baristas, creating partnerships and sales opportunities in the community, and collaborating with the Campus Pastor to support services and events through Wooddale Church. Manages the P&L of Seven Corners Coffee location; collaborates with CFO of Wooddale Church to track and evaluate financial success and ensure financial targets are met.
Hires, onboards and trains new employees.
Coaches, schedules and manages a team of staff baristas.
Coordinates with vendors. Controls ordering and inventory for supplies and dry goods.
Adjusts products, offerings and prices as needed to meet market demands.
Maximizes operational effectiveness of the shop, equipment and staff.
Addresses customer feedback and ideas regarding food, quality, environment, events, and customer service.
Identifies strategies to retain and attract customers.
Collaborates with the West Bank Campus Pastor to support outreach initiatives, services and events.
Creates outreach opportunities through partnerships, collaborations and special events that help students and residents at the University of Minnesota.
Management experience of staff and business operations in a coffee shop.
Experience related to coaching teams engaged in direct customer service a plus.
Committed follower of Jesus Christ and willing to become a member in good standing of Wooddale Church, including subscribing and affirming to the Statement of Faith and Covenant of Wooddale Church.
Possess a missional mindset in all areas of life.
Possess or agree to complete ServSafe Manager Certification within first 6 months.
Proficient on a computer; familiar with software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
Experience leading community engagement activities.
Bachelor's or Master’s degree or certification in business administration or business management is advantageous.
Reports to the Campus Pastor of Wooddale Church West Bank Campus.
Indirectly reports (dotted line) to Chief Financial Officer.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. This position requires availability to work within opening hours (Monday-Sunday 7am-5pm) and frequent weekends. A minimum of three barista shifts and two shifts of other managerial and administrative duties are expected unless otherwise approved by the pastor.
