Summary: The Youth Director is responsible for leading the youth in “making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world” through spiritual formation, servant leadership and relational engagement.

Qualifications:

• Strong Christian commitment and model a godly lifestyle through high standards in attitude, behavior and actions.
• Passionate and enthusiastic in facilitating spiritual growth of youth.
• Flexible and adaptable to ministry needs.
• Solid biblical knowledge consistent with United Methodist theology and practice.
• Ability to plan and coordinate youth-appropriate programs, messages and activities.
• Effective and compassionate communication with youth, families, volunteers and staff.

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred with preference given to training and/or in Education
• Experience in Youth Ministry preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Designs and directs all ministries for the youth
• Works in collaboration with the Children’s Director, parents and staff
• Provides weekly youth program on Sundays
• Plans and coordinates youth outings, retreats, community outreach, service activities and other seasonal/holiday events
• Keeps regular contact with the youth to facilitate spiritual growth
• Orders curriculum and other materials as needed
• Recruits, resources, trains and supervises leaders and volunteers
• Develops and submits an annual budget for the Youth Ministry
• Other duties as assigned
