VKids Pastor for under 5s

Reports To: VFamilies Director

Payroll Status: Hourly, part time (10 hours a week)

 

Role

We are looking for an experienced, Spirit filled, loving, and organized children’s pastor to build and nurture 0-5s ministry at our brand new building in central Pasadena. The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for bringing children to Jesus and nurturing their spiritual development. They will be gifted and skilled in ministering the gospel to children in our

 

Nursery I Pre-school group

 

The successful candidate will be an excellent, fun, communicator, who works well under pressure with staff, volunteers and children. They will help plan curriculum, organize schedules and run Sunday and other events.

 

Responsibilities

• Oversee Nursery and Preschool Groups on Sundays
• Teach 3-4 Sundays per month.
• Identify, recruit and organize teams of volunteers in the two VKids groups.
• Train and manage your volunteer team in coordinates with VFamilies Director and Over 5s VKids Pastor
• Alongside the VFamilies Director, build a curriculum of evangelism and discipleship for children attending the VKids program.
• Alongside the VFamilies Director, connect with families and plan events outside of Sundays.
• Oversee the under 5s VKids facilities including resources and equipment.
• Work to an agreed Vkids budget keeping accurate records as required.
• Welcome new families on a Sunday and making follow up contact during the week
• Participate in weekly staff meetings.
• Ensure compliance with Child Protection policies including guidelines on ratios, leaders, health and safety and criminal checks.
• Enter date into the Planning Center Check-in system for families and volunteers.

 

Requirements

• Be a committed follower of Christ with a passion and ability to minister the Gospel to 0-11 year olds.
• Be prayerful and responsive to the leading of the Spirit.
• Be an excellent, fun and creative communicator to children.
• Have a track record of organizing teams of volunteers, ideally in work with children.
• Be able to plan age appropriate sessions and curriculum which balance fun with Biblical teaching and encountering the Holy Spirit.
• Hold a degree level qualification in Children’s ministry or an equivalent children related qualification.
• Be a highly motivated self-starter, able to work independently and part of a staff team
• Be organized and IT proficient, working in a timely and flexible manner within a larger staff team.
• Be available to work 10 hours per week including Sundays and other hours as agreed.
• Be a committed member of Vintage Church Pasadena.
