About the Student Pastor:
This position supports the mission and vision of Mountain Springs Church (MSC) by providing pastoral oversight and leadership in the area of Student Ministries. The ideal candidate will be detail-focused, yet creative and enjoy working within an entrepreneurial team environment that is mission-driven, people-oriented, and healthy-paced. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise clear judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. This candidate will have a pastoral calling and have the ability to juggle multiple projects while overseeing a team of leaders.
The Student Pastor Will:
Manage all forms of correspondence including voicemail, e-mail, and regular mail.
Direct pastoral oversight of middle school and high school student programs.
Plan, organize, and lead weekly Elevate Student Ministry Services.
Build relationships with students and families.
Recruit, train, and develop all Student Ministry volunteers and small group leaders.
Counsel students and families through hard seasons in their lives.
Plan, organize, and lead the annual Elevate Conference.
Integrate student involvement in local and global missions.
Oversee, mentor, and develop Elevate Interns and Elevate Student Interns.
Oversee development and implementation of Student Life Budget.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
What You Bring:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Four to five years of ministry experience.
Skills & Abilities
Developed and honed communication skills and interpersonal awareness.
Ability to multitask and prioritize decisions.
Sensitive and skilled in dealing with differing behaviors, feelings, and values.
Appropriate awareness of privacy and sensitive, confidential information.
Enjoy working collaboratively with a staff team.
A demonstrated interest in new technologies and approaches.
Ability to recognize own limits and embrace the expertise of other staff.
Strong competence on Apple computers and within Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to work with Database Administration.
