ABOUT VALOR INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARS

Opened in September 2017 in Anseong, South Korea, Valor International Scholars (VIS) is the second campus of Valor Christian School International (Portland Oregon -- www.valorschool.org). VIS is a private Christian day and boarding school, serving Korean and international students of diverse cultural backgrounds, from 6th – 12th grade. VIS employs the standard American curriculum and follows the CORE standards. We are based on a trimester system and offer various advanced courses such as Advanced Placement via CollegeBoard and dual-enrollment via UT-Austin.

VIS is focused on developing confident and creative Christ following leaders, courageous with innovation and 21st Century skills. At Valor we have intertwined our academic plan with God’s Word, current education research on global competencies, along with best practices in education to establish a signature pedagogy. Our educational missions focus on connecting students with their God given purpose as members of the Christian community, in order to fulfill the great commission. Every year, students and staff travel to Kenya, India, Philippines to serve in missions where they execute projects they’ve worked on throughout the academic year.

By taking students from apathy to impact, and becoming effective followers of Christ, it is important to empower students with the knowledge and ability to become world changers. We must model and provide opportunities for our students to transition from simply being hearers of God’s word, to being doers of God’s word. We do this by improving their global competencies, aiding students in the understanding of society and culture at home and around the world. Through the signature World Course, VIS effectively integrates a biblical worldview to real-world critical-thinking and core academic skill sets.

In 2019, Cognia (formerly known as AdvancED) has accredited Valor International Scholars.
