YOUTH AND CHILDREN MINISTRY DIRECTOR

Responsibilities

A. Director of Youth and Children’s Ministry

I. Leadership Development

Recruit, train, and lead a team of volunteers to facilitate all youth and children’s ministry program functions and goals. Provide leadership development amongst the youth via youth council, youth Sunday, and organizing opportunities for youth to participate in the life of the church. Work closely with the Associate Pastor in planning, developing, coordinating, and directing youth and children’s ministry teams and programs.

II.  Program Operations

Direct the ministry programs for youth and children ages 0-18. This presently includes, but is not restricted to: nursery care, Sunday School programs, Vacation Bible School program, confirmation, youth retreats, service trips, and special events. Select, create, and implement all curriculum and supplementary materials necessary for engaging youth and children’s ministry programs. Provide resources, meetings, and opportunities to families and youth for their spiritual growth and support. Create the yearly budget in collaboration with the Elder of youth and children’s ministry. Maintain a spiritually and physically safe environment for youth, children, and families.

B. Pastoral Assistant

I. Worship:

Preach four times per year or as needed. Attend weekly worship meetings and assist in the development of worship services. Participate in worship on a regular basis. Lead or organize the weekly Good News for Kids messages.

II.  Pastoral Care and Leadership:

Provide Pastoral support and care to the congregation as needed.
