The Village Chapel of Pinehurst, North Carolina, an historic and vibrant interdenominational community of faith, is seeking an Associate Pastor who will promote and proclaim the word of God and encourage growth within the body of Christ, with the ability to engage Christians of all ages and backgrounds. The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent organizational and communication skills while adhering to The Chapel’s statement of faith.
The Associate Pastor position is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package. The successful candidate should have at least a four-year degree and a Masters of Divinity or equivalent, Candidates currently in pursuit of an advanced degree in Divinity (or the equivalent) will be considered.
The Village Chapel offers a robust Sunday schedule, with services at 8:15AM (holy communion), 9:30AM (informal family service) and 11:00AM (formal traditional), along with adult and children/youth Sunday School opportunities. The Associate Pastor will be expected to acclimate to each worship style and take an active role in all worship services. The Associate Pastor will be integrated into the preaching rotation at the discretion of the Senior Pastor.
In addition to worship responsibilities, the Associate Pastor will participate in weekly staff meetings, have a presence in select committee meetings, take an active role in the overall care of the congregation, and, at the discretion of the Senior Pastor, periodically officiate weddings and funerals. Teaching opportunities will also be available based on the skills and interests of the Associate Pastor.
The Village Chapel is located centrally in the Village of Pinehurst, where it has been a hub for Christians of all faith traditions for over 120 years. The Village Chapel began by holding services in the Village Hall and Holly Inn in 1898 and is in the midst of completing its fourth building project, with construction of our new children’s education center nearing completion. It is truly an exciting time as The Village Chapel continues its growth as a cornerstone church in this historic village.
