Position Description:

Since 1951, TFC Global has been a ministry that provides chaplaincy services to the trucking community. TFC Global exists to “evangelize, educate, and equip members of the trucking community and their families to help them grow in their faith.” A TFC Global chaplain serves with a ministry of presence that offers spiritual, emotional, and physical care to those in the trucking community and in a corporate environment.

Chaplain Qualifications:

Must be a saved follower of Jesus able to clearly articulate the gospel and train others to share the gospel in a clear and simple way
Must have a “calling” as a chaplain to the trucking industry or a corporate environment and be able to share their “calling” during the interview process
Demonstrates a life and reputation of faithfulness to Jesus and high standards of Christian living
Has the clear and open support of your spouse (where applicable) to enter chaplaincy ministry

Has a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from an accredited college or university, can demonstrate knowledge of the Bible, and makes decisions based on God’s absolute truth
Has 2+ years of experience in a leadership position with a ministry, business, or other organization
Has been ordained or commissioned by a recognized faith group (preferred)
Has an entrepreneurial spirit and is able to develop chaplaincy ministry in an area/city/county
Has the ability to approach the trucking community to seek chaplaincy ministry in their organization
Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Responsibilities for Chaplains:

Stay freshly connected to God through prayer and Bible study.
Complete the CTI (Chaplain Training Institute) 20-hour training and TFC Global orientation
Biblically counsel individuals, groups, or families concerning their spiritual, emotional, or personal needs
Be prepared to present the work of TFC Global to various churches, groups, and trucking companies
Network with trucking company owners and community leaders
Participate in fundraising to raise support for the chaplain’s ministry region to supplement trucking company contract income
Thank faith partners (donors) and send out quarterly newsletters
Be in regular conversation and accountability with the VP of US Operations
Organize and lead regular Bible studies and prayer groups in various locations
Complete monthly calendars and daily logs of your ministry activity
Respond to requests for assistance during emergencies or crises (On-call 24/7)
Develop a network of trusted Christian-based services to refer people for ongoing counseling and/or community support services as needed
Pursue ongoing training opportunities
Develop and train a team of volunteers to support the chaplaincy work (For example: host driver appreciation day/event).
Be computer literate in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel, opening PDFs, Outlook email

Instructor — teaching and training others how to do something for independent action
Strategic Learner — selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things
Time Manager — independently managing one's own time and oversight of others
Able to Coordinate — bringing together a ministry team for service, fundraising efforts, and advertising of the ministry
Critical Evaluator — able to evaluate yourself and be accountable to the VP of US Operations for the effectiveness of Holy Spirit dependency and ministry effectiveness
Visionary – able to see the development of an area for chaplaincy ministry to the trucking community
Manage Personnel and Material Resources — Motivating, developing, directing people, ordering TFC resource materials, overseeing the use of equipment and facilities

Understand the mission of TFC Global and your ability to move that mission forward with the TFC Global team.
Write a personal statement of faith in these areas of Bible doctrine: God, the Bible, the human condition, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Use phrases that start with, “I believe…”
Write out your explanation of the gospel.
Write out your explanation of baptism, what it does, and what it does NOT do. Note: the information requested in Steps 4-6 can be combined in a Word document and attached with your resume at the end of the online application or emailed to [email protected].
Provide three letters of recommendation that include contact information: personal, professional, and pastoral. These can be sent to [email protected].
Complete an initial phone interview with the VP of US Operations or another TFC Global team member.
Agree to a background check.
Complete a second, in-person (or video call) conversation with the VP of US Operations or another TFC Global team member
Complete a third and final, in-person (or video call) conversation with the president, VP of US Operations, and possibly other staff members.
