TITLE: STARS 123 Program Leader

OBJECTIVE: Implement the Afterschool Program for Grades K,1,2 & 3

SCOPE:This position interacts specifically with K-3rd grade students and their families in the Afterschool Program at Stars.

CLASSIFICATION: This position is classified as non-exempt

SALARY: $15 per hour

RELATIONSHIPS:Reports to Program Manager,
Collaborates with internal staff and community partners, and Member of Stars staff

HOURS:23 hours per week
Must be available Monday – Thursday, 3pm-7pm Occasional weekend events
Flexible administrative hours
*All Staff is working remotely until conditions with COVID-19 allow in-person class, which currently is indeterminable

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate possesses:

a)  experience working with K,1st, 2nd,& 3rd grade students

d)  Spanish-speaking skills desired
e)  a high level of integrity, self-motivation, and desire for excellence
f)  Capacity to learn Google products, Zoom, Google Hang-Out,WebEx

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
With the guidance and mentorship of the Program Manager, the Program Leader assists in maintaining a culture in which students, families, and volunteers:

WiththeguidanceandmentorshipoftheProgramManager,theProgramLeaderis responsible for implementing all activities of the Afterschool Program:

a)  maintain a safe, welcoming, clean, learning environment
b)  lead an efficient check-in/check-out process
c)  collect,record,andupdatedataandcontactinformation
d)  observe, monitor, and participate in all program components
e)  demonstrate consistent enforcement of behavior guidance system
f)  ensure age-appropriate supplies are ordered and available
g)  update student folders, attendance, and academic progress
h)  send weekly communication updates via email, text, phone, social media, etc.
i)  be familiar with grade-specific performance indicators for grades K - 3
j)  Help coordinate transportation to and from program when needed
k)  performotherrelateddutiesasnecessary
The Program Leader will collaborate with:

a) Program Manager for planning, implementation strategies, and mentoring
b) Afterschool program’s families for relationship building and partnership
c) Stars’staff,volunteers,ministryleaders,andcommunitypartnersforsupport d) Pasadena Unified School District for support
e) Committee members and event organizers for support
