St. Thomas Presbyterian Church in Houston seeks a full-time solo pastor with at least two years of pastoral experience. We are a warm, loving suburban church with about 120 members that has a very active outreach program in the community.  Our mission is to welcome all, serve our neighbors and grow in relationship with Jesus Christ.  Our vision is to be transformed by faith, transforming through service. We are a Christ-centered community that loves God, our church and one another.  We are truly a church family. Based on Christ's many gifts to us, we express our gratitude by serving our families, our congregation and the community. Our church provides a pastor with opportunities to serve the Lord both within the congregation and in the community at large.

St. Thomas sits between two distinct socio-economic neighborhoods.  To our immediate north is a mostly low-income neighborhood with a large complex of apartments.  To our immediate south is a generally affluent neighborhood with single-family residences.  The broad differences between these neighborhoods complicate social concerns and provide opportunities to serve. We house a daycare program (Nabor House Community) for low-income families.  Harris County uses our facility twice a month for supervised visits for families under court order.  We have an emergency food bank and are a Meals on Wheels distribution center and a certified Red Cross Emergency Center.   We provide Grace Bags for the homeless.  The Grace bags include hygiene items, food and a list of local resources.

We also helped establish and continue to be active in The Outreach Center of West Houston (OCWH), which was established in 1996 on the property of St. Thomas.  The OCWH continued to grow, requiring a new facility in 2003.  The OCWH is now home to 10 non-profits, providing numerous services to children, youth and adults in the community. In addition, our facilities provide an inviting performance space for musicians and artists to share their gifts with those around us, both during worship and in special events.  Our campus is also used by a boy scout troop, which we sponsor, and an AA support group.
