Position Summary
The Young Adult and College Minister serves as a spiritual leader and mentor for young adults and college students ages 18–34 at St. Paul Baptist Church. This position is responsible for cultivating a Christ-centered community that fosters spiritual growth, discipleship, fellowship, and holistic support for young adults and college students. The Minister will develop meaningful programming, provide pastoral care, and partner with church leadership to engage and empower the next generation of believers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Community Building & Discipleship
* Create and sustain a welcoming and engaging community for young adults between the ages of 18–34.
* Cultivate spaces for spiritual nourishment and discipleship through Bible studies, fellowship gatherings, worship experiences, and outreach opportunities.
* Encourage active participation and spiritual growth among young adults and college students.
Programming & Ministry Leadership
* Plan and coordinate the monthly “Come As You Are” (CAYA) Broadcast held on the last Wednesday of every month at 6:30 PM.
* Teach Thursday Noon/Night (TNT) Bible Study sessions as directed by Senior Pastor Scott.
* Preach during Sunday morning worship services when requested by Senior Pastor Scott.
* Lead the Quick-15 Prayer Call when requested by Senior Pastor Scott.
* Coordinate and oversee annual College Sunday and HBCU Sunday worship services.
Pastoral Care & Student Support
* Provide spiritual encouragement and support to college students through monthly college check-ins.
* Attend to the mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of college students and young adults.
* Serve as a mentor and resource for college students navigating academic, personal, and spiritual challenges.
Community & Campus Engagement
* Establish and maintain partnerships with local colleges and universities to provide spiritual and physical support for students.
* Represent the church in community and campus-related initiatives involving young adults and college students.
* Collaborate with church staff and ministry leaders to align programming with the church’s mission and vision.
Qualifications
* A committed and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
* Ministerial license is a requirement.
* An undergraduate degree is a requirement.
* An ordination certificate is strongly preferred.
* A seminary degree from an ATS school is strongly preferred.
* Use of Artificial Intelligence is preferred.
* Experience in ministry leadership, discipleship, teaching, or related church ministry preferred.
* Strong knowledge of Scripture and the ability to teach and communicate effectively.
* Demonstrated passion for young adult and college ministry.
* Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
* Ability to connect with diverse groups of young adults and college students.
* Ability to work collaboratively with pastoral staff, church staff, volunteers, and community partners.
* A background check will be conducted for academic and criminal purposes.
* Two references-one personal, the other professional.

Reporting Structure
* Reports directly to Senior Pastor, Dr. Robert Charles Scott.
