JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Title:                          Children’s Ministries Director

Reports To:              Senior Pastor

 

Job Requirements:

The candidate should have a strong personal relationship with Jesus. Have the ability to    give spiritual counsel to children, parents, staff and volunteers when appropriate.  Have a love for children and people and the ability to relate to all age groups.  Have a gift for motivating volunteers.  Have a background in education.  Have strong management and organizational skills.  Have excellent verbal and written skills

 

Primary Duties:

Direct St. Andrew’s Children’s Ministries.
Direct Family Camp Children’s Program
Attend conferences and seminars when appropriate
Attend staff meetings and staff prayer
Plan special events for the children
Provide spiritual counseling to children and parents as needed
Be in the community meeting and inviting  new people to church
Detailed Responsibilities:

Direct Sunday morning Children’s Programs
Recruit & oversee volunteers for Bible Adventures for Kids, and Sunday school
Provide spiritual leadership for the Children’s Dept. volunteers
Hire, train and provide spiritual mentoring for Program Assistants (Interns)
Communicate, support, train and inform parents as needed
Order supplies and curriculum for Sunday school
Recruit counselors for VBS
Run 1-2 service projects a year for the Children’s Dept.
Keep Resource room well stocked
Keep Children’s Dept. storage areas neat
Keep Children’s Dept. hallways and rooms cheerful and up to date.  Decorate bulletin boards in the halls seasonally or as needed.
Plan special events for the children
Support the other ministries of St. Andrews as needed
Lead a collaborative team to run Vacation Bible School
Principal Working Relationships:

Staff, church leadership, congregation and the public.

 

Status:                                    Exempt; Administrative

Full or Part Time:               Part Time/Full Time (As needed)

Hours:                                    20/40 hours per week
