Job Type and Location
Part-time employee (10-15 hours/week) in and around San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Menlo Park and Redwood City. As the ministry grows, more locations may be added and hours may increase. You must live in the San Francisco Bay Area to be considered for this position - we do not relocate anyone. Please pass on to any clergy who may be interested - it is ideal for someone who is at a church, but has spare time during the week as most of our services are mid-week.

Job Description
SpiritCare is looking for a part-time chaplain who can lead monthly worship services with communion at assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing and rehabilitation communities for adults. Chaplaincy brings the hope and compassion of Jesus beyond the walls of a care community to enrich residents’ lives, as well as those of the staff and caregivers. The ministry serves all people, regardless of race, ethnicity, language, gender, religion, culture, country of origin and economic status.

This is an ideal position for a church pastor who wants a second job, a recent divinity graduate who is making a career change after working in another field, an experienced hospice or hospital chaplain, or a newly retired pastor.

The chaplain will be a self-starter who reports to the SpiritCare Board chairperson or executive director.
