WAGE CATEGORY:  Part Time Exempt  (20 hours/week)

 

REPORT TO:  Lead Pastor

 

DESCRIPTION:

The Children’s and Women’s Ministry Leader will both oversee all aspects of the children’s program at Spectrum Church for ages birth – 5th grade, and implement Bible studies and activities to engage and help women grow in their faith.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Children (60%)

•       Prepare weekly, biblically based Sunday school lessons; teach as needed

•       Seek, schedule, train and assist children’s staff and volunteers

•       Check in periodically with parents and other family members to both inform parents of what is being taught but also to encourage and facilitate family worship

•       Spearhead (at least two per year) family friendly activities and gatherings either in the community or on site in an effort to build relationships with current and potentially new young families and their friends

 

Women (40%)

•       Develop relationships with the women at Spectrum Church

•       Implement regular Bible study times, seek leaders, encourage attendance, and invite the community

•       Develop and oversee implementation of regular activities (e.g. breakfasts or other on or off-site gatherings, service projects, or similar) to encourage spiritual growth along with interpersonal relationships.

•       Develop volunteerism among the women to assist in these studies and activities

 

Other

•       Attend staff and other meetings as required

•       Other duties as requested

 

 

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

·    Must be able to clearly communicate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and demonstrate this relationship through how he/she lives

·    Must embrace and model the mission, vision and core values of Spectrum Church Irvine

·    Passion, creativity, and energy for working in the interests of young children and their families

·    Self-motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team

·    Strong interpersonal skills

·    Strong time management skills, flexible and adaptable to change

·    Education:  College degree, preferably in a related field

·    Minimum 3 years’ experience working in church ministry or related area

 

COMPENSATION

Exempt, 20 hours per week.  Salary $27,500
