Established in 1835, Silverside Church is a small nondenominational community church with historical roots in the American Baptist Churches of the USA. We are seeking a pastor whose education, experience and guiding principles align with the church’s Vision and Mission

Likewise, our pastor will seek to engage with the congregation on this spiritual and intellectual journey through preaching, teaching and the free exchange of ideas.

Basic job requirements include leading our weekly Gatherings on Sunday: preparing and delivering a sermon, collaborating with our music director, coordinating with our lay leaders, and engaging with our members in fellowship after the Gathering.  The ideal candidate will use Scripture and other spiritual resources to preach sermons that are fresh, contemporary, and relevant. Additional pastoral duties include: officiating at weddings, funerals, and baptisms; providing pastoral care and counseling; working with Church Council to ensure smooth operations and promote programming; serving as the “face of the Church” in the wider community.

Compensation will consist of competitive salary, commensurate with credentials and experience, coupled with a generous benefits package, including housing allowance, health insurance, retirement funding, support for professional continuing education, and more.
