HR Specialist – Compensation at Seed Company

SCOPE: The HR Specialist Compensation administers staff compensation programs for global staff among other duties that contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive total reward program that supports effective retention and engagement of a global high-performing workforce, guided by precedent and working within the limits of established policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

•    Conduct job evaluations to determine appropriate job levels, pay grade, position level.

•    Collaborate with the HR business partners to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.

•    Reviews and maintains job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.

•    Works closely with HR business partners on pay decisions, policy interpretation, and job evaluations.

•    Work with payroll provider to ensure timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes and other deductions. Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations and changes to pay rates.

•    Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer payroll related questions.

•    Research and determine payroll liability by state. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, payroll tax obligations and internal protocols.

•    Administers compensation programs for global staff.

•    Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and business objectives.

•    Participate in industry compensation and benefits surveys

•    Collaborate with Finance on reporting and audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.

•    Create, modify, and update spreadsheets and other electronic media in order to help illustrate recommendations, trends, and a variety of market data; generate ad hoc reports as needed for various compensation analysis and departmental requests.

•    Maintains knowledge of trends, developments and best practices in compensation and benefits administration

OTHER DUTIES:

•    Maintain staff confidence by protecting and maintaining confidentiality of personnel data.

•    Maintains professional and technical HR knowledge by attending workshops, conferences or webinars.

•    Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups as directed and maintain required level of knowledge pertaining to operating procedures, requirements, processes and policies.

•    Lead and/or participate in projects, initiatives or task force groups which focus on issues having organization wide impact.

•    Perform or assist with any assignments as required or directed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, printers, scanners, postage machine and smartphones.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have prolonged period of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Strong faith in Jesus Christ as Savior; God honoring lifestyle;

•    Passion for the Word of God and provision of the Word for every people group;

•    Championing Seed Company’s vision, mission and values;

•    Requires a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field;

•    Requires at least two to four years of Human Resources experience;

•    Requires at least one years experience processing payroll. Proficient with payroll software, preferably ADP Workforce Now;

•    Experience with HRIS and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel;

•    Excellent written and verbal skills, including high attention to detail;

•    High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations;

•    Ability to work under tight deadlines and with multiple departments;

•    CEBPS, PHR, SHRM-CP or CCP certification preferred.
