Administrative Assistant for Communications & Development

The Administrative Assistant for Communications and Development is a full-time administrative support position responsible for providing technical and logistical support for the Director of Communications and Development at San Marino Community Church. Focusing on detailed-oriented, creative, and consistent communications that prioritize congregants and their needs, the Communications and Development Coordinator plays a central role in producing and coordinating externally-facing communications and donor cultivation for San Marino Community Church and the Foundation.

Applicants should have:
- excellent written and oral presentation skills
- interest in graphic design and visual arts (experience with Adobe suite & Canva preferred)
- keen customer service instincts
- ability to exercise discretion and trustworthiness with sensitive donor information
- friendly and polished professional demeanor
- enthusiasm for new projects and initiatives
- command of Adobe InDesign, Canva, Microsoft Office, G-Suite
- familiarity with work management software (e.g., Asana)

Tasks & Responsibilities

-       Develop and maintain the San Marino Community Church website, including maintenance of structure, copy, media, and events information
-       Compose concise, compelling, accurate e-blasts for the congregation to reflect strategic initiatives, important announcements, and upcoming event information, including, but not limited to: weekly event & announcement e-blasts, weekly worship reminders, children’s spiritual formation communications, and special event communications
-       Design graphics for ministries, programs, announcements, and events in conjunction with the Director of Communications and Development, and incorporate branding and marketing priorities
-       Serve as communications liaison with appropriate ministries or programs (such as worship planning, social media, committees, etc.), providing support with graphics, copy production and updates, and general communications, as requested.
-       Submit articles, advertisements, and press releases for the San Marino Tribune or other publications at the direction of the Director, maintaining production schedule and communicating deadlines to appropriate staff and clergy
-       Assist in the creation and production of marketing and communication pieces, including, but not limited to: Sunday service inserts, bulletins and programs, brochures, campaign materials, direct mail, event advertisements, and other materials as needed
-       Provide production support for videos including marketing and campaign pieces
-       Provide administrative support for large-scale special events, including, but not limited to: coordinating logistical arrangements, volunteer recruitment and training, customer service, and event production and logistics implementation

-       Provide administrative support for the needs of the Foundation of San Marino Community Church, including, but not limited to: Board communications, distribution of Board materials and committee meeting agendas, maintenance and coordination of scheduled communications, design assistance for campaign materials, production of campaign materials, collection of information from grant partners, etc.
-       Provide donor relations support and giving acknowledgements as requested by the Director, including, but not limited to: donor care visits, thank you notes, phone calls, bereavement care, etc.
-       At the direction of the Director, work to implement a record-keeping system for donor notes, Cornerstone Society membership, and major gifts tracking

Other Duties, as requested:
-       Serve as point person for memorial services, working with the family to determine preferences for the service, producing the printed program, and making logistical arrangements with church staff
-       Provide additional administrative support for the needs of the church

Compensation & Benefits

- Non-exempt. Hourly salary: $24-$26/hour depending on experience.
- Medical and death & disability insurance for the employee. (There is a co-pay)
- Access to additional benefits at cost to the employee including Medial FSA, Dependent Care FSA, vision eyewear, dental, short-term disability, family medical coverage, etc.
- 3% contribution and additional up to 3% match to Fidelity 403(b) retirement savings plan upon the first year anniversary of hiring.
- Two weeks of vacation to start and ten paid holidays per year
