Associate Director of Children’s and Youth Ministry

Summary: The Reformed Church of Bronxville “RCB” is looking for a Youth Worker (with 2+ years' experience) to collaborate with our Director of Children’s and Youth Ministry and Early Childhood Coordinator in strategizing, planning, and executing our programs for our Sunday morning Church School, 4th & 5th grade events, Middle School, and High School Youth Groups. Along with some administrative support, we envision this as a 40-hour-per-week position, which includes some hours in the evening and occasionally on weekends.

Background: RCB has placed a high emphasis on investing in our youth programs, including renovating our Student Ministries Center, refinishing the Church’s gym, and looking to increase support staff. RCB views these ministries as the primary vehicle for outreach to the Village and beyond. The Director of Children’s and Youth Ministry is hoping to better connect and engage with our growing number of students, parents, and the families of The Reformed Church Nursery School. This would be best achieved by having a staff counterpart within our Children’s and Youth Ministry program.

Responsibilities: The Associate Director will be called upon to cultivate relationships with students and parents in the church, to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to nurture them toward greater spiritual growth.
The Associate Director of Children’s and Youth Ministry will be responsible for:
Collaborating with the Director of Children’s and Youth Ministry and the Early Childhood Coordinator in planning and executing weekly programming for our Sunday Morning Church School, High School Youth Group, Middle School Youth Group, and quarterly events with 4th & 5th grade students
Lend administrative assistance as needed, including but not limited to email communications and event planning
Nurturing an atmosphere of inclusivity with enthusiasm and positive energy around The Reformed Church of Bronxville’s children’s and youth ministry programs
Opportunity to lead on weekend and weeklong service projects, mission trips, and wilderness excursions

Mature and fully devoted to God and to the church of Jesus Christ
Energetic and loves being around young people
Able to work collaboratively with department staff
Understands Scripture and some facility and experience teaching from God’s Word
Prayerful and comfortable leading others in prayer
Creative and curious about new ways to share the Gospel with young people
A strong role model of Christian living, with high standards for integrity and character
Authentic and able to relate well to students and parents
Has the ability to communicate clearly via email and text communications
Has experience using Microsoft products, Outlook, and Instagram
