The primary mission of Reach is synonymous with that of all Christians — to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18). More specifically, Reach exists to make disciples who believe the Gospel, worship Jesus, grow in community, and live on mission. The Pastor of Discipleship & Community champions our efforts at the intersection of discipleship and community, and oversees all expressions of our commitment to this purpose.

This is a senior role within Reach’s pastoral team that is responsible for the overall vision, leadership, strategy, and execution of Reach’s community and discipleship efforts. They will invest in recruiting and developing leaders to grow existing discipleship environments and build new opportunities for learning, equipping and growth. Everyone engaging with Reach (whether a first-time guest or seasoned leader) will know the many ways available to respond to the Gospel in community, be a disciple of Jesus, and live on mission.

This role may grow over time to include other responsibilities based on gifting, experience, and ministry needs.

What qualities does a person in this position bring to the table?

A Passion for Discipleship. Must possess a clear conviction that all God’s people are to make disciples and seek to fulfill the Great Commission.

A Missionary Heart. Loves to engage lost people with the gospel. Must have the ability to train others to share their faith.

Outstanding interpersonal skills, and excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

Able to build relationships with people of varying ethnicities, socio-economic levels, and generations; recruits, equips, and empowers, both formally and relationally.

Strong administrative, and organizational skills. Ensures that all tasks are done correctly, thoroughly, and with precision.
