Reach’s Family Pastor will lead our efforts to make disciples of the next generation while equipping parents to do likewise. They will oversee the entire Family and Next Gen ministries at Reach, acting as a shepherd, advocate, and champion as we seek to offer care and support for the whole family. Responsibilities include pastoral care, program supervision, leadership development, and overseeing the spiritual formation of young people at Reach from birth through College.
This is a senior role within Reach’s pastoral team that is responsible for the overall vision, leadership, strategy, promotion, and execution of Reach’s commitment to families and the next generation of young people. In addition, the Family Pastor will partner with the Elders and Lead Pastor in shepherding the church as a whole. This includes providing pastoral care, visitations, officiating weddings and funerals, administering communion, and preaching.
?What qualities does a person in this position bring to the table?
A Passion for Discipleship. Must possess a clear conviction that all God’s people are to make disciples, including young people and families, and seek to fulfill the Great Commission.
A Heart for Families. Leads and lives a clear theology, philosophy, and model for making disciples in families. A passion for equipping parents to shepherd their children in their own home and spread the Gospel in their everyday lives.
A Missionary Heart. Desires for kids, students, and families to experience the Gospel and become integrated with all ages in the Church.
An aptitude for leading and casting vision for a large, cohesive family ministry at Reach.
Outstanding interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills (verbal and written), including a strong ability in public speaking, teaching, and preaching.
Able to build relationships with people of varying ethnicities, socio-economic levels, and generations. A strong ability to recruit, equip, and empower people, especially volunteers, both formally and relationally.
Strong administrative, and organizational skills. Ability to organize, inspire, and mobilize a ministry team, budgeting acumen, and ensure that all projects are done correctly, thoroughly, and with precision.
