The Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling degree is a two year, on-campus/in-person program that leads to both LMFT and LPCC licensure in California. Job Description:
The College of Health Sciences is seeking candidates for a full-time, tenure-track teaching position in Clinical Counseling. The University seeks an individual capable of excellent teaching, committed to significant involvement with students both within and outside the classroom, and interested in participating in the academic unit’s service learning.
Responsibilities begin January 2023 and will include teaching a wide variety of courses in Clinical Counseling and Psychology. Academic rank, compensation levels, and eligibility for the Tenure track will be based on degrees earned and related experience.
Responsibilities
-Facilitate class instruction for graduate-level courses according to department standards and mission.
-Develop, deliver, maintain and review course materials, and syllabi.
-Evaluate student performance and provide timely and substantive feedback on students' performance and behavior.
-Effectively develop students’ knowledge and applied skills in the field of psychotherapy.
-Advise and mentor students academically, spiritually, and socially.
-Contribute to preparing students for their post-graduate careers and finding who they are called to be.
-Engage in personal scholarship and scholarship with students (where possible)
-Provide accommodation for students who require it according to PLNU Educational Access Center.
-Attend events and meetings as identified by the department and college, including but not limited to, weekly staff meetings, interviewing prospective students, and disciplinary committee.
-Contribute to the recruitment, retention, and preparation of students.
-Support and participate in state and national organizations to promote the profession and strengthen network resources.
-Utilize the Canvas/Workday online platforms for assignments, grading, and course structure.
-Serve on university faculty committees/working groups and perform other normal faculty duties
-If Eligible, various responsibilities aligned with the Tenure Track process.
