Children's Pastor - Opendoot Church

POSITION MISSION:

The Children’s Pastor stewards the vision and values of Opendoor’s Children’s Ministry, by empowering an established team of volunteer leaders to disciple the children and families of Opendoor Church.  The Children’s Pastor’s mission is to train children to experience God, worship unashamedly, and live a life following the Holy Spirit.

QUALIFICATIONS:Preferably a licensed or ordained minister and/or 5 years of experience in children’s ministry.
Exceptional time management, organizational, and prioritization skills with a particular emphasis on follow-through and attention to detail.
Must demonstrate a strong working knowledge of computer proficiency and church management systems, Google documents, and social media platforms.
Efficient in written and communication skills.
Ability to think and act independently with a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
Must adhere to the employee handbook and all organizational policies in both spirit and definition.
Must be willing and able to work weekends and some evenings.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Make church fun.
Monthly meet with 3 to 5 Children’s Ministry Dream Teamers.
Annually create and execute a Children’s Ministry strategic plan.
Annually develop and execute a Children’s Ministry budget to be reviewed with oversight.
Annually execute a recruitment strategy to attract new volunteers.
Annually review and update Children’s Ministry Policies and Procedures.
Semesterly cast vision, train, and connect with the entire Children’s volunteer team.
Semesterly host training(s) to equip Team Leaders, Floaters, and Childcare teams.
Monthly participate in staff meetings, Ministry Team meetings, training(s), and other meetings as requested.
Weekly attend and participate in the Generational Tactical meeting.
Weekly lead Children’s Ministry Staff meetings (Team meeting, Service planning meeting).
Develop an effective onboarding process for new Dream Team (DT) members.
Develop a strategy for parent engagement and communication.
Develop and execute a Kids Conference and a Kids Camp.
Teach and/or host regularly in ministry venues as needed.
Provide weekly “On Call” Pastoral care to families in need 6-7 times per year.
Responsibilities may require but are not limited to 2 nights per week.
Assist in staff duties at weekend services, including,  but not limited to, presence in Church Lobby, Opendoor Kids Check, etc., before and after all services
Assist pastoral team in executing pastoral functions (weddings, funerals, etc.) as needed
Other projects and activities as assigned.
