Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

 

Open Door Chapel, located in Sapporo, Japan, is seeking a senior pastor to lead our congregation.  Our hope is to call a minister by the end of 2024, to begin serving on April 1, 2025.

Pastor's salary: 255,000 yen monthly (US$1735, of which 210,000 yen take-home pay, with pension, health insurance, and income tax being deducted)

Employee pension available (pension and health insurance)

Pastoral activity fee: 20,000 yen monthly (US$135, transportation, books, office supplies, etc.)

No bonus

Vehicle expenses (car and vehicle inspection) and housing expenses are paid out of the pastor's salary.

 

We currently have 53 members.

Our annual budget is now about 5.5 million yen (US$37,000).

One of the characteristics of our church is that a large percentage of our members are Japanese who have lived abroad.  There are also several international couples with children.
