Solo Pastor at North Park Community Church
Fort Wayne, IN 46835
About the job
North Park Community Church (NPCC) is traditional in its worship and reformed in its theology. We believe in the 5 solas of the Reformation. Our church appreciates and strongly supports the expository teaching of God's Word. We believe in the sufficiency of God's Word for all teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the people of God are completely equipped for every good work (2 Tim 3:16). We see "Every good work" as involving both evangelism of unbelievers in and outside of the church attenders, and discipling all believers into strong productive workers in God's harvest fields. "Every good work" also involves caring for orphans and widows both inside and outside the church.
NPCC was founded in 1995. The campus is located on a beautiful 25-acre plot in a suburban/rural setting northeast of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Our average Sunday morning worship service attendance is 80-90. It is composed of young couples/singles, some middle-aged couples/singles, with our largest group (65%) being 60 and older. There is no active youth ministry at this time. We have a lively, active, engaged, warm, friendly, and caring group of people who love being together. We have been without a staff senior pastor since December 2021.
Our musical worship style is a blend of contemporary worship songs and traditional hymns.
We meet on Sundays for a 60-70 minute worship service which follows two adult Sunday School classes. During the week we have home-groups which meet. Once a month we observe the Lord's Supper during the Sunday morning worship service.
The current five elders meet weekly for prayer, planning, overseeing the staff, and determining the spiritual direction of NPCC. Our governance of the church is through a plurality of the pastor and elected lay elders. The teaching/preaching responsibilities are currently being shared by our elders, other men in the congregation who are gifted in teaching, and two local pastors from a church of like faith. Other ministries in the church are headed up by mature Christian men and women who volunteer their time and effort.
We as a church body actively and intentionally support and pray regularly for our future pastor and current elders.
Our paid part-time staff are all members of NPCC. They are: a Music Director, an Office Manager, an Assistant to the Office Manager, and a Buildings & Grounds Director.
We are looking for a pastor to lead, challenge and care for us.
