NEXT GENERATION PASTOR

 

Purpose: To fulfill the vision, mission, and values of North Church in and through effectively co-leading and co-overseeing, with another Next-Gen Pastor, the Kid’s & Youth (Next Gen) Department in a comprehensive vision to all kids and their parents.

 

Next-Gen Vision: Inspiring the next generation to say yes to God and become Holy Spirit-empowered world changers.

 

Giftings Needed: This role needs a person who has proven capabilities in leadership, administration, and teaching. The candidate needs to be decisive, directive, inspiring, and collaborative.  She/he also needs to have a huge heart for kids of all ages (Preschool-High School) and their families.

 

Education Needed: A bachelor’s degree, theological proficiency, and background leading within kids or youth ministry.

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Weekend Kids classes

Mobilize and lead a team of volunteer leaders and team members implementing a quality Sunday morning ministry for kids in Preschool-6th grades.

 

Mid-week Jr./Sr. High Youth Ministry

Mobilize and lead a team of volunteer leaders and team members implementing Wednesday night ministry for students 6th-12th grade.  Ensure the youth have a quality weekly live worship and teaching experience.

 

Plan and execute a variety of events for kids and students outside of the weekly rhythm of ministry.

With your staff and volunteer leaders mobilize and lead a team of volunteers to host a minimum of 4 events per year for kids and families of North Church. (VBS, Kids Camp, Big Days, Parenting class, etc.)
With your staff and volunteer leaders mobilize and lead a team of volunteers to host a minimum of 6 events per year for students and their friends. (Winter/summer camps and a variety of other events)

 

Ministry Vision and Program Development.

Continually inspire with vision, evaluate, and implement a clear mission that is continually and progressively growing in scope, depth, and creativity. Pastor-Servant.
Ensures that pastoral care is being given to Next Gen volunteers, children, youth, and their parents. Member of the North Church pastoral team and provides pastoral care in the larger church body as needed.

 

Administration and Organization.

Responsible for the Next Gen budget, record and keep current written procedures and evaluations, and for other executive program details such as maintaining vital volunteer background checks, selecting, and updating curriculum on an ongoing basis that is consistent with the North Church Next Gen mission, vision, doctrine, and values, etc. Ensures maintenance of database records.

 

Disciple Making

Provide holistic disciple-making of the team and students through personal relationship building, feedback, encouragement, accountability, ministry skills training, problem resolution support, and ongoing leadership development training.

 

Motivator

Lead the way in spotting and celebrating the victories, highlighting the heroes, building into the teams an attitude of fun, a sense of mission, loving relationships that are deepening, and an “I’m so glad I get to do this” mentality.

 

Facility Maintenance and Aesthetics

Leads and implements creative visual enhancements to the Next Gen Department in coordination with the design team. Oversee the proper equipping, clean up, and maintenance of all rooms used in ministry.

 

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time with Medical/Dental/Vision Benefits, Generous time off, Flexible schedule, Salary TBD based on prior experience and educational background.
