Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide individual and small-group counseling grounded in biblical truth to address students’ academic, social, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Help students develop Christ-like character traits such as kindness, self-control, forgiveness, and responsibility.
- Guide students in applying biblical principles to problem-solving, decision-making, and peer relationships.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student growth and reinforce a Christ-centered approach to discipline and development.
- Assist students in building foundational academic skills, including goal setting, perseverance, and stewardship of their abilities.
- Maintain accurate, confidential counseling records in accordance with school policies and ethical standards.
- Promote a positive, faith-filled school culture that reflects biblical values such as love, respect, integrity, and service.
- Deliver classroom guidance lessons integrating Scripture with topics such as social skills, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation.
- Provide crisis intervention with compassion and prayerful support, referring families to outside resources when needed.
- Develop and implement programs that address bullying prevention, reconciliation, and healthy relationships through a biblical lens.
- Remain current in professional counseling practices while continuing personal spiritual growth and understanding of Scripture.
