Who we are
My Friend’s Place is a privately funded nonprofit organization with a mission “to assist and inspire homeless youth to build self-sufficient lives.” Our crisis resource drop-in center provides emergency, health, mental health, creative arts, case management, and education & employment services to nearly 1,300 youth and young adults experiencing homelessness annually. The youth and young adults we serve are predominantly black and brown and male identified. We recognize the experience of homelessness as a social, racial and economic justice issue. Our comprehensive, multi-disciplinary program model is innovative and replicated in drop-in centers locally and nationally. We are a data lead agency committed to continuous learning and development. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and integrous person interested in growing our Data and Impact department.
Works with program staff to ensure quality collection and dissemination of data. Collects data from program staff and enters into our performance management tool. Generates reports for program and development inquiries. Provides ongoing evaluation support to program staff. Under the leadership of the Data and Impact Manager, Associate will further the development of innovative data practices and processes through a justice, equity, diversity and inclusion lens.

Inputs data into our performance management tool, CiviCore, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Creates data sheets and reporting templates for ongoing data collection needs.
Generates and distributes routine and special reports to program managers and staff.
Reviews and monitors all incoming data for errors and omission of required data.
Troubleshoots errors/discrepancies in data and works with program staff and/or youth to correct and/or gather missing information.
Assist in creating and facilitating ongoing training for program staff on proper data collection methods, monitors compliance and provides updates to agency directors and program leads.
Monitors the tracking system to ensure that outcome data are submitted at designated intervals. Provides routine notifications for missing outcome data to program leads and staff.
Attends team meetings to discuss department issues and develop potential research and evaluation projects.
Administers questionnaires and other research instruments to youth participating in feedback surveys.
With guidance from the Data and Impact Manager, Associate will collaborate on composition of scientific articles and posters, and present methods and findings at meetings and conferences.
Develops and maintains data entry/computer and research skills through seminars, workshops or other forms of training/education.
Participate in daily and weekly cross-domain meetings meant to enhance team attunement and multidisciplinary teamwork as well as agency-wide training.
Participate in monthly clinical group supervision.
Partner with the Development Team to create content for agency communication and grants.
Participate in agency fundraising events and other community efforts to educate about youth homelessness.
Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education and Experience
1 year of research experience.
Experience working with diverse populations or lived experience strongly preferred.
Bachelor's degree in social science or related field from a four-year university required.
Must have intermediate knowledge of computer programs in Windows, including Word, Excel and Email.
Possesses a valid driver's license and state-required auto insurance.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to effectively and efficiently manage deadlines and multiple tasks.
Strong presentation and interpersonal skills, including ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management, programs staff, Board members, and private and public funders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Adept at learning new software.
Open-mindedness and ability to work with diverse groups.

Requirements, Terms and Benefits
The Data and Impact Associate position is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Data and Impact Manager.
