The Big Picture

Monmouth Community Christian Church (https://mccc.org/en-home/) seeks a full-time English Pastor to lead the English ministry. We are an independent, non-denominational Chinese American church, emphasizing the Word of God in the Power of the Holy Spirit. The English Pastor is accountable to the Board of Overseers (BO), the Executive Council (EC), the English Congregation, Monmouth Community Christian Church (MCCC), and ultimately to Jesus Christ. The ideal candidate should have a passion for Christ and a commitment to the growth and development of the English Ministry and must agree with MCCC’s Statement of Faith and Bylaws.

 

Qualifications

Must have graduated from an accredited seminary or equivalent.
Must satisfy the Biblical elder’s qualifications (1 Tim 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4).
Minimum 5 years of pastoral or ministry experience.
Should be comfortable dealing with a multicultural, multigenerational church.
Must have strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

 

Responsibilities

Shepherding:

Provide spiritual guidance, discipleship, and counseling to the English congregation.
Foster the spiritual and emotional well-being of congregants through fellowship, visitation, and caring.
Teaching and Preaching:

Equip members with biblical teaching through sermons, Sunday Schools, and bible studies.
Regular preaching to the English congregation, with support for other services as needed.
Spiritual Leadership:

Derive vision and plan to lead the congregation.
Set spiritual goals and maintain a consistent prayer life.
Evangelism and Outreach:

Lead the congregation in fulfilling the Great Commission.
Grow young family and young adult ministries.
Communication and Collaboration:

Maintain unity with other MCCC congregations through regular communication.
Collaborate with the BO/EC to lead the congregation in fulfilling God's purpose.
Collaborate with Mandarin congregation, Cantonese congregation, and Youth ministry.
