Mercy Multiplied is a nonprofit Christian organization with residential and outreach programs designed to empower people of all ages to live in freedom from life-controlling behaviors and situations, including eating disorders, self-harm, drug and alcohol addictions, unplanned pregnancy, depression, sexual abuse, and sex trafficking. Our residential program is for young women ages 13-32 and our goal is to help residents permanently stop destructive cycles, discover purpose for their lives, and become productive and thriving individuals. Our outreach programs and resources are based on the same biblically based principles used by Mercy homes.

We have an immediate opening for a Nutrition Manager staff in our home located in St. Louis, Missouri. This position is eligible for paid time off and insurance benefits.

Hours:

32 Hours/Week (full-time)

To be successful in this role, one must have the following:

Bachelor's in Nutrition and Food Science preferred but not required (preferably a Registered Dietician)
Must have a high school diploma or pass a general educational development test (GED)
Managers Serve Safe Certification (provided)
Strong background in nutrition
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Exceptional organizational and time management skill
Must have a thorough understanding of, and dedication to, the vision of Mercy Multiplied, along with demonstrated Christian work ethics

Summary of Responsibilities:

Develop and Maintain Food Programs for Residents

Create and post menus approved by Mercy Registered Dietician, making necessary accommodations for specific resident meal plans and food allergies
Develop meal plans for residents, including submitting to Mercy Registered Dietician for approval
Monitor lunch, snack, and complete meal monitoring per schedule; oversee meal preparation for lunch and dinner and check work details in the kitchen and dining room for all meals
Teach basic nutrition and educate residents individually on personal nutrition habits

Communicate any pertinent nutritional information to night/weekend staff as needed
Confer with Director of Home Operations, Fitness Manager, and Medical Services Manager about any special resident dietary needs due to medical conditions and/or doctor’s instructions

Inventory food supplies, create grocery lists, making necessary accommodations for specific resident meal plans and food allergies
Place food order weekly, coordinate food delivery services and pickups for food orders, and maintain constant contact with food service representative.
Purchase house supplies from Sam’s weekly and from local grocery store on an occasional basis
Research sources of healthy food, create menus and disseminate information to other homes as needed

Maintain Kitchen and Health Codes

Consult with Mercy Registered Dietician for development of menus
Stay abreast of current research on nutrition and wellness
Obtain Basic Sanitation and ServSafe Certification for Managers through the Missouri Health Department and facilitate a Serve Safe Class for residents quarterly.

Inter-Departmental/Home Coordination

Supervise Fitness Manager and approve individualized fitness programs
Participate in weekly Team Meeting, updating all nutritional information as needed
Consult with Medical Services Manager and Registered Dietician to set weight and nutrition, and guidelines for residents with eating disorders
Participate in Wellness Meetings
Work closely with Mercy Registered Dietician regarding nutrition questions and special nutrition related situations with residents
Assist with household duties whenever needed
Must be responsible for safe transportation of residents when needed
Other duties when necessary
