Pastor at Living Stone Church
About the job
The Big Picture
Living Stone Church (lscchelan.org) is a healthy elder led church of 50 prayerfully seeking a full-time pastor with a shepherds heart to equip the saints for works of service and to mobilize the church in reaching the lost and making disciples locally and globally.
Living Stone Church reflects 1 Peter 2:4-5, as the church body, we are living stones who have as their head, The Living Stone, Jesus Christ. Sound doctrine and biblical conviction on major Christian tenants are foundational while grace is given on secondary issues. The church has existed for over 100 years and has impacted the community in a variety of positive ways. Currently the Sunday morning gathering is held in the “Upper Room” on the second floor of the Chelan Public Library. By God’s Grace there is a plan in place to soon build a new church building on land that has already been acquired.
We know that God’s choice for this pastoral position is a man endowed with a shepherd’s heart, who will tenderly love and care for the members of LSC, and effectively work at equipping the congregation for the work of the ministry. The Pastor will work along with the elders in providing spiritual leadership to the congregation, with primary ministries in Preaching, Teaching, and Pastoral Care/Shepherding.
The called and gifted pastor must adhere to the biblical principles of leaders as set forth in I Tim 3:1-13 and 2 Tim 2:24. It is desired that the Pastor will have a bachelor’s in ministry, or related field from an accredited Bible College. The ideal candidate will have experience of at least 3 years in a paid ministerial position.
The City of Chelan sits at the southernmost tip of the Lake Chelan Valley, at the end of a pristine 50-mile-long lake. What may seem like a cozy example of “small town USA” in the off-season, becomes a bustling tourist destination in the summer and throughout the holidays. This affords Living Stone the blessing of ministering not only to regular attendees, but seasonal members and visitors alike.
