Associate Worship Pastor
General Purpose :
The role of the Associate Worship Pastor is to lead the congregation in engaging, dynamic worship designed to draw people closer to Christ and to His salvation, and lead them into deeper discipleship of Him, while developing the church's vocal teams to lead in their gifting with specific training.
Principle Focus :
Promote the mission and goals of Live Oak Church under the direction of the Worship Pastor, and serve as a colleague in ministry with the pastoral staff. Work with the Worship Ministry staff to develop a cohesive approach to Worship Ministry. Recruit and develop volunteers to exhibit the technical and spiritual excellence expected of those on the platform.
Skills and Requirements :
Professing born again follower of Jesus Christ
Ordained minister (preferred)
Worship/music degree (preferred)
Prior experience in a similar position
Working Relationships and Accountability :
Reports directly to the Worship Pastor.
Spiritual accountability from the Senior Pastor.
Organizational accountability from the Executive Pastor and HR Committee.
Supervises accompanist and relevant volunteers (choir, vocal teams)
Works with ministry staff to provide requisite music for services and events.
Regular and Occasional Duties :
Providing worship for corporate services:
Schedule singers, choose music, conduct rehearsals, and prepare lyrics in ProPresenter for all services assigned to.
Prepare charts/vocal roadmaps, and lead mid-week vocal team/Worship Choir rehearsals, as needed.
Assist Worship Pastor to plan, staff, and lead special worship experiences, including, but not limited to, Easter Sunrise, Good Friday, and Christmas Eve.
Plan and oversee children's summer music camp.
Assist Worship Pastor in planning and leading worship for special Student Ministry events.
Assist with leading and/or scheduling soloists/accompanists for funerals, as needed.
Development of Staff and Volunteers:
Identify, recruit, and train new vocalists.
Train and incorporate student vocalists into weekly services.
Assist the Worship Pastor in training volunteers through the Worship Development Program, designing personalized plans for each vocalist on the Worship Team, leading vocal classes or workshops as needed, while incorporating spiritual disciplines and leadership in each area.
Track relevant metrics (choir attendance, engagement, development, etc.)
Attend weekly Staff meeting.
Attend monthly Administrative Board meeting.
Maintain music library
Employment Status :
Full-time position with benefits, including but not limited to 401k enrollment with 100% matching (up to 3% of salary), monthly cell phone stipend, generous vacation & PTO.
The person to fill this position will be approved by the Executive Team, HR Committee, and Administrative Board.
Salary range: $40,000-45,000, based on educational background and experience. Raises determined annually based on performance.
Review of Performance :
A departmental evaluation by the employee’s immediate supervisor and/or the Executive Pastor within the first 90 days of employment.
An annual performance review will be conducted by the Worship Pastor.
