Worship Leader

OVERVIEW
The Worship Leader is responsible for the oversight of the worship music
experience at Journey Church by creating environments that make it easy for anyone to
connect with God. The Worship Leader plays a critical and highly visible role in cultivating corporate and personal practices of worship in weekly gatherings and events that embody the mission and vision of Journey Church. By providing expertise for worship, the Worship Leader will work collaboratively and in cooperation with all Journey Church ministries and will work closely with the pastoral and staff teams to plan gatherings that help people find Jesus. The Worship Leader provides leadership for the strategy, development and enhancement of corporate worship, including recruitment, development and discipleship of worship team members. The Worship Leader also provides oversight of the technology & production programs and teams.
They will be a self-starter with excellent musical, interpersonal and organizational
skills, efficiently using their time. They will have a strong working knowledge of, but not limited to SongSelect, Multitracks, Canva, Planning Center/Church Center, etc. Like other leadership positions at Journey Church, the worship leader understands they are a representation of Journey Church at all times.

Qualifications:

• A mature and healthy relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Proven ability to build healthy relationships and work within teams.
  Strong vocal and musical skills with a broad exposure to a variety of musical styles.
  • Must be comfortable leading on stage from an acoustic guitar, piano or
    similar instrument
• Strong technical skills in the area of audio/visual & livestream. Experience with SongSelect, Planning Center & ProPresenter preferred.
• Desire and ability to relate to multiple cultures and worship traditions.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities & Duties

1. Plan, coordinate, and lead worship services in collaboration with the lead pastor
   and worship team. Create and distribute schedules and song lists.
2. Select and prepare music that aligns with the church's vision for worship and the
   focus of the Sunday sermon.
3. Develop and implement a system to recruit, train, and manage worship team
   members, including musicians, vocalists, and A/V Tech volunteers.
4. Oversee the audiovisual aspects of worship services, ensuring high-quality sound,
   video, and lighting.
5. Maintain and communicate a schedule for worship team rehearsals and services.
6.  Create and continually improve methods of communicating and bonding with your teams. Invest in, develop, and care for leaders and musicians in our congregation.
7. Manage budget for worship ministries, ensuring responsible stewardship of
   resources.
8. Collaborate with church staff and church leadership teams to plan and prepare for events that bring life and community to the church.
9. Maintain a consistent devotional time with God so that you lead out of the
   overflow of your life. (People follow their leaders, so, as in all lifestyle decisions,
   we expect each Staff member to lead by example. Joyfully giving 10% or more to
   support Journey’s mission and vision is expected.)
10. Maintain a consistent pattern of generosity towards the work of God through
    Journey Church.
11. Embrace a high biblical standard of personal conduct and speech both publicly
    and privately (Journey Leaders represent both Christ and Journey Church at all
    times, on and off duty).
12. Adhere to the Journey Church Statement of Faith and the Statement of Ethics.
13. Greet members of the congregation and visitors as they enter the church.
14. Be willing and available to provide announcements/information to the
    congregation during weekly services.
15. Designate a lead/go-to person when not present to serve.
    a. Such action shall be communicated to the Lead Pastor at least TWO weeks
    in advance. Approval is required.
16. Any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Lead Pastor.
