John Muir Health, Center for CPE is accredited by the ACPE.  We are accepting applications for the September 2023-August 2024 Clinical Pastoral Education residency year. In CPE, students the skills of professional chaplaincy and develop new awareness of themselves as persons and spiritual care providers through engagement with those in need, peers, members of the healthcare team, and educators.

 

John Muir serves a diverse community in the San Francisco East Bay.  Chaplain Residents have the opportunity for rotations at the Walnut Creek Medical Center, Concord Medical Center, and our In-patient and Out-patient Behavioral Health Center in Concord.  We also offer learning opportunities to in Palliative Care, Home Health as well as joint learning with our Family Medicine Residency.

 

Chaplain Residents are temporary employees of John Muir Health, earning approximately $50,000* for the year.  Benefits include full medical and dental benefits, access to Employee Assistance and Better up for support and coaching.  Chaplain Residents receive 24 days of paid time off and discount BART prices. Additionally, tuition is waived for our Chaplain Residents.
