ABOUT JARVISBURG CHURCH OF CHRIST

Jarvisburg Church of Christ (JCC) is a biblically-centered, non-denominational church that is part of the

Restoration Movement located in Jarvisburg, North Carolina. Our mission and vision is that we want

everyone to follow Jesus by bringing them to salvation through the gospel, leading them to spiritual

maturity, and preparing them to serve. We exist to do all things for the glory of God, evangelizing the lost,

edifying the saved, and serving the community.

 

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Children’s Minister at JCC is to provide the chief visionary leadership and oversight to the Children’s

Ministry (birth – 5th grade). The Children's minister works with the Senior Minister, Youth, and Family

Minister, and Elders in accomplishing this task.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The Children’s Minister must agree to Jarvisburg Church of Christ’s statement of faith and should be a mature Christian who guards his/her life and doctrine closely (1 Timothy 4:16). In addition, the Children’s Minister should:

Have a high degree of Biblical literacy (required), Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Have Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and in relationships.

Have Leadership gifts or potential.

Have a history of collaborating well with a team.

Have the willingness to grow and become better at their role in the Kingdom.

Have a passion for bringing up the youth for Jesus.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

Be an active and engaged member of Jarvisburg Church of Christ.

Develop a clearly defined vision and strategy for discipleship within the Children’s Ministry that works

in conjunction with the overall vision and ministry of Jarvisburg Church of Christ (JCC).

Build, train, and develop the Children’s Ministry Team which consists of key committed and gifted

volunteers.

In partnership with the Youth and Family Minister, develop and implement a strategy for whole-family

discipleship; working with families to equip and empower parents/families to disciple their children.

Provide oversight and planning for all aspects of Children’s Ministry programming.
