Purpose

Mobilize people of Irving Bible Church into service opportunities that will transform the city. Help create culture shift to become service and outreach oriented. Develop and maintain partnerships with local organizations. Oversee Global Partnerships and mission team. Collaborate with pastors and staff to help move forward church vision to become a multi-ethnic movement of missionary disciples formed in the way of Jesus for the sake of the world.

QUALIFICATIONS

»   Seminary degree or equivalent

»   5+ years of experience leading in a church or non-profit in community/mission context

»   Passion to reach those that don’t know Christ

»   Experience mobilizing groups for service and outreach

»   Experience networking with local community and organizations to build trust and opportunities

»   Leadership development skills and experience

»   Cross-cultural experience / Worldview training

»   Familiarity with missionary life & sending organization methodology/practice

»   Freedom to travel internationally

»   Spiritual/emotional maturity

»   Effective team-builder

»   Ability to adapt to multiple cultural contexts

»   Heart for multi-ethnic church

CONTINUING RESPONSIBILITIES

Cultivate an authentic personal relationship with Jesus through prayer, scripture, worship, accountable relationships, and gifted service.

Work with local partners and organizations to provide accessible opportunities for congregation to serve needs of those in our community. Mobilize congregation toward these opportunities.

Oversee Global Missions Director to ensure that we work with global partners and missionaries to provide opportunities for congregation to serve needs of the global community. Mobilize congregation toward these opportunities.

Provide ongoing assessment and evaluation of local and global partnerships compared to IBC’s mission and vision.

Serve as a member of the Pastoral Staff. Engage with the pastoral staff to help create and maintain clarity and alignment toward vision and strategy.

Oversee, equip, train & develop missions team members to serve our ministry partners with excellence.

Inform, educate, and lead IBC in praying, sending/giving, going, and welcoming partners, through any and all available channels, including in-house and external communication channels.

Oversee mission budget.
