Business Administrator - Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church


Join the wonderful staff at HMPC! Our office has a comfortable, collaborative environment, and down the hall is our vibrant preschool. We are looking for someone with office management skills to do the following: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the church: supervise and support administrative staff, interact with congregants and community members, and assist church staff and lay leadership; manage and maintain campus facilities and serve as liaison for HMPC Committees, contractors, and community groups; transact business affairs.


Administrative Support
Maintain membership database, church records, and files in digital and hard-copy formats
Manage the calendar for church and community groups ensuring appropriate building access
Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for lay leadership, staff, and the Presbytery
Oversee church publications and communication
Supervise office personnel
Perform Human Resource functions, including onboarding of all church and preschool employees
Monitor church infrastructure, including phone system, internet, workspace, and website
Non-voting member of property and finance committees
Other tasks as assigned by Head of Staff
Property Management
Manage maintenance of church property, including coordination of contractors and volunteers
Maintain property inventory
Ensure all church safety, property, facility and vehicle policies and procedures are followed

Financial Responsibility
Support Finance Committee in preparation of annual church budget, including gathering and processing information from and effectively communicating information to various committees and groups
Prepare budget request for office expenses, and help prepare budget requests for Property Committee
Assist Accounting Coordinator with upkeep of church financial records

Experience, Ability and Skills
Elite organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Positive attitude, willingness to problem-solve, learn new things and step in whenever needed
Confidence supervising administrative staff and supporting church volunteers
Knowledge, experience, and ability to stay current with office technology; proficiency in Google Workspace, calendar administration and church management systems preferred
Ability to manage multiple priorities

This full-time exempt position reports to the Pastor/Head of Staff. Pay is commensurate with experience, $46,000- $52,000. Hours will be worked on site, sometimes including hours outside regular business hours, in a casual environment.
