SUMMARY: The Youth Director will seek to cultivate a gospel centered student ministry for the Jr. and Sr.
High students at Homewood Community Church (HCC). The vision of student ministry at HCC involves a
heavy emphasis on relational ministry in addition to regular programming and activities for discipleship and
spiritual formation. The core values of the Youth Director should align with those of HCC’s mission to love
God, love our neighbor, and love our place.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Relational:
• Actively seek to grow in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Develop relationships with students through contact work, communication, and prayer.
• Engage parents as discipleship partners through meetings and resource provision.
• Commit to praying for the ministry, students, families, leaders, volunteers, and staff.
• Programming:
• Cultivate a hospitable environment for students to grow in their relationship with Jesus.
• Collaborate with Youth Staff on planning, organizing, and leading Large Groups (LG), trips, and events and as well as set-up and clean up for all activities.
• Organize Youth Community Groups (YCG) by assigning leaders and students to each
  group.
• Leadership:
• Implement personal and ministry accountability opportunities for leaders.
• Provide training and development for leaders, volunteers, and Youth staff.
• Attend bi-weekly HCC Staff meetings with a prepared update on the ministry.
• Commit to vocational development through reading, seminars, conferences, etc.
• Administration
• Communicate consistently with students, parents, youth staff, and volunteers about the activities of the student ministry.
• Assist with LG curriculum and YCG material writing and/or selection.
• Create, maintain, and implement a yearly budget.

SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS

• Committed Christian who is called to vocational ministry.
• A heart for youth and their growth in discipleship to Jesus.
• Highly personable and relational.
• Vibrant communication and teaching abilities.
• Leadership and vision giftings.
• Administrative, planning, and organizational skills.
• Experience in Youth Ministry preferred.
