ASSOCIATE PASTOR JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Primary focus on developing the youth and family ministries, including all aspects of the Christian Education programs.
- Select the christian Education curriculum; recruit teachers and youth leaders
- Oversight of Christian Education staff and programs including Sunday school, Youth Group and VBS; provide Christian Ed. training of teacher and youth volunteers
- Teaching of both youth and young families; will lead youth experiences such as mission trips and service projects and oversee Confirmation Classes.
- Engage in social media outreach, collaborating with GVPC's Digital Media Director
- Participate in worship in liturgy, prayer, children's sermon, officiating sacraments, occasional preaching, and pastoral care.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Interest and passion for child, youth, and family ministries.
- Strong theological foundation, reads Scripture, and is actively engaged in praying and learning.
- Imaginative, resilient, constantly looking for opportunities for growth; exhibits strong collaborative qualities; skills complement those of our Senior Pastor.
- Highly relational, with the ability to connect with all ages.
- Strong interpersonal skills, a warm and congenial manner, and compassionate listening.
