JOB DESCRIPTION FOR THE ENGLISH ASSOCIATE PASTOR (FOR YOUNG ADULTS AND YOUNG FAMILIES MINISTRIES)

General Information

The Greater Phoenix Chinese Christian Church (GPCCC) is a nondenominational evangelical Christian church serving the Chinese and English-speaking community in the Greater Phoenix area. Located in Chandler, Arizona.

We are currently seeking a qualified individual who is passionate about serving our Lord Jesus Christ and is a strong shepherd, mentor, and team player.

English Associate Pastor Qualifications

·           Scriptural Qualifications

o    Called by God to be the shepherd of the flock (1 Peter 5:1-4).

o    Be a Person of character and testimony as in (1 Timothy 3:1-13).

·           GPCCC-Specific Qualifications

o    Hold doctrinal belief in line with GPCCC.

o    Agree with and will uphold GPCCC by-laws.

·           Ministerial Qualifications

o   Pastored an English-speaking Church (preferably in North America) for more than 5 years.

o    Had proven ability and experience to work with a team of pastoral staff.

o    Had experience working in a multi-ethnic environment.

o    Gifting in preaching and teaching.

·           Personal Qualifications

o    Married pastor with marriage counseling experience (Marriage as

defined in the bible and GPCCC’s statement of faith).

o   Must be able to communicate in English fluently and the ability to communicate in Mandarin is preferable but not mandatory.

o    Must have a minimum of M.Div. from an acceptable seminary.

English Associate Pastor Job Descriptions

·           Shepherd the English-speaking flock (1 Peter 5:1-4; Ephesians 4:1-8, 11-16)

o    By leading the flock in sound teaching and preaching

o    Being one of the regular preachers in the English congregation.

o    By equipping the flock for ministry

o    By caring for the flock
