Tech Coordinator at Grace Long Beach
Long Beach, CA
About the job
Overview
In normal life, the position is responsible for the implementation of technical support (audio/visual/lighting) for services and special events at the church. In COVID life, that has all shifted to online/virtual. We’re hiring a part time person to take over the video production of services each week (recording, editing and uploading the elements of a service), as well as oversee the tech for the live gatherings that we are doing.
Duties & Responsibilities
NORMAL - The Tech Coordinator oversees the smooth operation of all technical aspects (A/V and lighting) of live services (primarily Sunday mornings, occasional events, especially in heavier liturgical seasons of Advent, Christmas, Easter and Pentecost).
COVID - Record, edit, export, and stream our weekly service. This requires a basic knowledge of how to use a DSLR camera, how to edit in premiere pro (or other editing software like Final Cut), and how to upload/stream. (It would also be helpful to know how to record audio to a computer, but training can be provided for that.). We do small, outdoor, Sunday morning watch parties for our service which require a small amount of tech setup and supervision.
In addition to the tasks above, the tech coordinator will also oversee the volunteers that make our Sunday videos possible. (We have a team for captioning our worship videos, and a volunteer who oversees the mastering of audio). It is necessary for the tech coordinator to get files to the necessary parties in a timely manner, and then use said files in the final Sunday service video.
