Summary of Position

The Online Campus Pastor is responsible for leading and championing Gateway’s mission to “help people explore God and become a unified community of growing, multiplying Christ followers”.

 

The Online Campus Pastor will model the values of Gateway Church and will be an articulate advocate and communicator for the vision of Gateway Church, bringing the life and freedom of Jesus to every person & people group where we have influence.

 

The online Campus Pastor will leverage all online platforms to organize, lead, and connect people across the globe to explore their faith and into smaller groups (online & offline) and to drive those to turn around and serve others.

Primary Functions

Strategic Leadership

Lead and oversee the Online Camus as an "extension" of Gateway by reproducing the overall vision as well as the spiritual and cultural DNA of the Church
Lead Gateway Online Campus to implement Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) each month, i.e. attendance, Baptisms, Connection to Serving, Life Groups, Commissioned and Giving
Lead Gateway Online Campus to accomplish a unified vision: one church, one mission, across multiple departments and locales
Lead people online through Gateway’s clear simple path from lost to leading
Participate on the Campus Pastor Team
Provide pastoral care and leadership to all those who attend online
Set attainable faith goals for the online campus and communicate the strategy to achieve those goals with CP team and Executive Team
Lead efforts to establish relevant, powerful outreach ministry to the Online community
Volunteer Leadership

Be the primary recruiter of volunteers and leaders for ministries and life groups
Meet, invest, support, & encourage your volunteer leaders
Build community and get to know your online volunteer leaders, meeting regularly for training and encouragement
Continually develop and lead multiplication of the Online Campus to empower leaders to start watch parties, host sites, extension sites, and campuses
Develop the leadership community for the Online Campus by consistently casting vision and equipping and training these individuals through various methods
Operations

 

Develop, produce, and host weekend worship services for an online audience
Ensure what is being planned for the physical campus, translates well for online
The online campus pastor is responsible to lead the first impressions for our Online Campus and to recognize they are the first pastor many guests will meet and connect with at all or before/if they attend an in-person campus
Lead the innovation of all online experiences while expanding our online reachOversee online campus budget and reporting and be a wise steward of financial resources
Teaching/Pastoral/Spiritual Growth

Amount of teaching varies depending upon teaching ability, Campus size, and health
Assist, upon request, the Arts Team to develop engaging and spiritually significant services
On rotation for pastoral functions (i.e. counseling, baptisms, weddings, funerals, etc.)
Gateway Church Staff Member

Attend Campus Pastor meetings with Senior Pastor and Executive Team
Attend all mandatory meeting requirements
Participate, as needed, in all-church or all-leadership initiatives
Being “All In” at Gateway Church, as your church home, and being a commissioned member of the church body is a must. This is not only a job, but also a mission as a member of the body of Christ represented through Gateway Church
Desired Qualifications/Skills

Successful candidate should have at least 8-10 years related ministry experience
Strategic leadership skills which enables candidate to effectively act and influence others in ways that promote the enduring success of the church
Proven track record of managing a high functioning team
Ability to identify, raise up and lead volunteers (many from lost to leading)
Highly relational, organized and excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mobilize others to action
Minimum of a 4 year college degree; seminary or post-grad biblical education preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and the capability to learn other software
Spiritual Criteria

Must have an intimate and growing relationship with Christ
Must become a commissioned leader at Gateway Church (or be willing to if not currently commissioned)
Model standards and expectations of commissioned leaders at Gateway Church
Working Conditions and other information

Sunday through Thursday schedule with added responsibilities for holidays and special events as assigned
Required Tuesday morning attendance (alternating Life Group/All Staff meetings for all full-time employees’ regular employees & part time if required by manager)
Required work day at North Campus on Tuesdays
Easter- all hands-on deck for our Easter services for all part time & full-time regular employees who normally average 20+ hours per week. (see holiday policy for more details)
Christmas- all hands-on deck for our Christmas services for all part time & full-time regular employees who normally work 20+ hours per week (see holiday policy for more details)
Annual All Staff Retreat dates subject to change but falls somewhere on a Monday & Tuesday in May
Superbull- all hands-on deck for Saturday/Sunday services during Superbull for all part time and full-time regular employees who normally work 20+ hours per week.
Annual leadership community dates subject to change but typically falls on a weekend in August
Monthly Leadership Community- each campus will be holding a leadership community once per month. All staff are required to attend the leadership community at the campus they attend. (Campus Services should attend the campus in which they currently lead or regularly attend.)
