Role: Executive Worship Pastor

Department: Creative Arts and Communications

 

PURPOSE: To create an atmosphere where God infuses every aspect of our worship/arts/production experience and sets the table for the Word and ultimately salvation for those far from Jesus and a deeper experience for Christ followers. Through excellent servant leadership the Worship Pastor will oversee every aspect of the Sunday worship experience from the stage to the production booth to create an environment that will allow the message to be presented in a creative and relevant way through worship, spoken word, scripture, video and more, ultimately setting the stage for the Holy Spirit to soften and challenge people's hearts which will then allow the Lead Pastor to present the Word in a dynamic way that allows God to move upon those far from Jesus to come to know Him and also those that are already Christ followers to be equipped  and challenge in a greater way.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Outstanding team building skills (it’s not about you). Leading teams across multiple locations will stretch your leadership skills like never before.
Leadership development capabilities (growing yourself out of a job)
Musical and vocal ability to effectively lead various teams
Ability to assimilate 40-50 per year into a ministry team or as a connect group leader (more clarity / vision will be given about this specific task) *critical to the job function*
Ability to give creative direction to the audio/visual/lighting/media/stage teams to accomplish the vision
Continuous recruiting and development of a farm team (obsession with the next generation of musicians, singers, and so forth)
Technical abilities to communicate the vision to the Audio/Visual/Lighting team.  (Got to be able to communicate the vision to all teams)
The ability to hustle, make it happen, never have an excuse, laziness is not an option, looking around the corner to the future, executing to stand above the crowd, lead well, pray hard, fast hard ….. plunder hell and populate heaven attitude!
The reality is that you need to be self motivated and have the ability to take the heart and soul of the vision from the lead pastor and put the legs of creativity and worship onto it and make it run!
Worship needs to be birthed out of your intimacy with God and it’s not just 3 or 4 songs but it is revelation from God during those times that you bring forth to the congregation of people that are far from Jesus and need to be taught how to worship plus those that want it deep. I believe God through His Spirit in worship can minister to both groups of people.
Lastly …. We have a big vision that cannot be housed in just one house so you need to be thinking multiple locations/churches and church planting for the worship teams …. All day, every day!

QUALIFICATIONS:

Spiritual and emotional self-awareness and alignment with the teaching of Fusion Church and the Lead Pastor is necessary
Experience, Education, and/or Licensure: minimum of 3 years experience with music/worship in a church context; or equivalent combination of education and experience and multi-site church a benefit.
College degree with a music ministry, or other pastoral/leadership focus is a plus

Planning Center
BaseCamp
Google Suite
Multitracks Playback
Ableton
Familiarity with industry/church best practices for Worship ministry
Familiarity with existing technology or similar:
Sound Engineering
Dedication to continuing education, continuous improvement, and excellent customer service + team management skills

 

 

 

TIME REQUIREMENT

Approximately 40-50 hours per week
Sunday Services
Some week nights (events, services, etc.)
