Youth Ministry Coordinator
The Youth Ministry Coordinator will develop and enhance a ministry that will encourage and equip the
spiritual formation of sixth through twelfth grade students and their families, connecting them to the
larger congregational life of First Presbyterian Church.
The Youth Ministry Coordinator position is accountable to the Director of Discipleship and Christian
Formation (DDCF).
• Be a faithful follower and disciple of Jesus Christ.
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills with students and parents and be energized
connecting with new people.
• Possess effective biblically based teaching skills.
• Having a college degree and previous experience in Youth Ministries is preferred
• Be committed to lead youth and families into the faith and mission of FPC Fullerton.
• Be a strong leader and mentor.
• Possess social media savviness and have experience with online technology and basic office
skills and technology.
• In collaboration with the DDCF, select curriculum to utilize when teaching during Youth worship
• Prepare and organize lessons from curriculum modules; ensure needed supplies are available
and organized to present lessons and be thoroughly prepared to lead Youth Worship and
• Be present and prepared before and after Youth Worship to welcome, assist and encourage
youth, parents, and volunteers.
• Invite, develop, and train adult volunteers to utilize their gifts and talents as advisors, small
group leaders, teachers, and ministry partners. Provide supplies and encouragement. •

Develop Faith Formation, Discipleship and Leadership Development by:
o Providing consistent opportunities for youth to safely GATHER & GROW to nurture faith
formation including discipleship, worship, Bible study, and fellowship with the purpose
of inviting all to build an active relationship with Jesus Christ.
o Developing a small group ministry for youth and mentor students in leadership
o Leading Youth to participate in the life and community of FPC Fullerton, including
Church Worship when it does not conflict with youth programming.
o Encouraging students to serve and lead within the church and community (Ex: Feed the
Hungry Program, Community events, Help at VBS Summer Camp).
o Engaging students and families through phone calls, meetings, social media platforms,
online teaching and Zoom as needed.
o Developing relationships with local schools and their leadership to become familiar with
the current needs of the youth and their families in our community.
Administration, Communication and Finance:
• Attend weekly staff meetings (in person or online)
o Develop collaboration and ministry development with fellow staff.
• Attend regular ministry meetings with DDCF to:
o Provide open, frequent, and honest communication about what is going on in your
o Coordinate office hours.
o Develop detailed calendar for the year for Youth programs and activities and
corresponding monthly budget.
• Respond in a timely manner to parents and students.
Special Gatherings, Events and Trips:
• Plan and lead Winter and Summer Youth retreats
• Plan and lead quarterly service projects.
• Plan involvement in 2 major community city events (i.e.: 4th of July City Festival, Youth Booth at
Festival or City Celebration)

• Part-time, Non-Exempt requiring approximately 25 hours per week.
• Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
