First Evangelical Church, Arcadia: English Pastor
Chinese church in the North San Gabriel area of Southern California is looking to call a Full-time Pastor to lead the English adult congregation. Knowledge and understanding of American-Born Chinese and Overseas-Born Chinese cultures are essential.

(A). Qualifications:

* Div. degree or equivalent. Previous church pastoral experience preferred.
* Proficient in English and deep understanding of the American Born Chinese culture; but also a willingness to dialogue and work with the Overseas Born Chinese congregation.
* Ability to work with the young adults.
* Good team player and able to work with church leadership team.
* Good organization, communication, relational and counseling skills.
* Creative and a pioneering spirit.

(B). Job Description:

Teaching:* Preach regularly in the English service;
* Be current on the relevant issues of the day to teach Biblical values;
Pastor and Counsel:* Pastor the age range from college (young adult) to all adults;
* Connect and counsel congregation members;
* Work closely with parents of youth, guiding them in their parenting and spiritual growth;
* Home visitation and crisis counseling;
* Duties like hospital visits, funerals;
* Help in transitioning the youth into the adult congregation;
Leadership Development:* Identify and disciple leaders for ministry team, deacons, and elders;
* Lead English adult leadership in strategic planning, future direction and programs;
Administration:* Oversee congregation activities: worship, prayer meetings, small groups, discipleship, Sunday school, all-church events and some administration;
* Serve on committees as assigned;
* Work on tasks assigned by the Senior Pastor.
