A Spiritual Leader who meets the spiritual and character qualifications described in 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, and 1 Peter 5.

A spiritual leader who is willing and seeking to be spiritually and personally accountable to God Himself as directed in the Holy Scriptures and is also personally and spiritually accountable to the Deacons and congregation in fulfilling the pastoral duties. A Pastor must demonstrate the work of the fruit of the Holy Spirit in his personal and pastoral life. If married, his spouse fully supports his work and ministry as Pastor, and desires to use her spiritual gifts as she is able.

Fully supports and agrees with the First Baptist Church’s statement of Faith.

Completion of a postgraduate degree (Master’s Degree) from a seminary is ideal, but not mandatory. A Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis on Biblical Studies is preferred. In lieu of formal academic training, experience will be considered in its place (please put in detail on your resume).

Some full time experience in local church ministry in the role of Pastor or Associate Pastor is ideal. Experience in Church Leadership (i.e., Deacon or Elder), experience in the mission field or other areas of ministry would be considered.

An individual who has ministerial credentials which include: licensing by the State to perform weddings, as well as ordination to the Gospel ministry (previously ordained or open to be ordained by First Baptist Church)

The position of Pastor at First Baptist Church is that of Solo Pastor. Leadership of the church is the task of the Pastor and the Deacons.

The role of Pastor at First Baptist Church would be a full-time position.

The gender of the individual to fill the position of Pastor is observed from scripture to be male.

Salary and benefits commensurate with experience. Housing allowance may be available.
