First Baptist Church of Newark is hiring a part-time Worship Leader. We are searching for a person who has a strong calling to lead our congregation in a contemporary style of public worship while honoring the traditions of our denomination.

 

The Worship Leader will work with the Pastor and Worship Team to plan and coordinate the Sunday morning worship service and provide primary leadership for congregational worship. This person should be a maturing disciple of Jesus with a strong sense of “call” to this ministry and to our congregation and its culture, and will emphasize the church’s overall vision, including finding ways to support and advance that vision through music and worship ministries. Our desire is that this person will have a strong background in vocal performance, proficient music skills in at least one instrument, and at least six months of experience in leading a contemporary style of public worship while honoring the traditions of our denomination. Some formal education in music would be preferred.
