FBC Groveland, Florida, is seeking a Director of Worship and Discipleship. This person would be responsible for working with the Lead Pastor and giving oversight, vision, and direction to worship and discipleship ministries at FBC Groveland.

We are looking for someone who can lead worship that is theologically sound, congregationally friendly, emotionally engaging, and honoring to Jesus. We are looking for someone who has a passion for seeing people take their next steps in their walk with Jesus.

We are going through a revitalization process, and by God’s grace, we are a 100-year-old growing church located in the heart of one of the fastest-growing cities in Florida. We are Gospel-centered, word-driven (expository preaching), and focused on the supremacy of Christ in all things. We need someone to help us love and shepherd people and reach many for Christ. PRIMARY FUNCTION

Facilitate people Knowing God, Finding Community, Making Disciples, and Changing the World by leading FBC’s worship and discipleship ministries.

Those four statements reflect our discipleship pathway, and we want every ministry to focus on those areas.

 

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Able to exercise discernment for song selections with sound theology
Proficient in guitar and/or keyboard
Able to sing and lead in congregational worship
Able to communicate vision
Able to design and facilitate systems conducive for discipleship

 

PRIMARY DUTIES

Oversee the vision and direction of the worship and discipleship ministry
Lead weekly worship gatherings, not limited to Sunday mornings
Disciple and develop volunteers, including but not limited to band members, sound and tech booth volunteers
Schedule bands and production volunteers for worship gatherings and, as needed, for church events.
Oversee small groups
Cast vision for small group leadership
Develop current leaders and recruit potential new leaders
Organize smaller discipleship groups called D-groups (We have resources for this)
