Faith Baptist Church of Hampton, Iowa is looking for an Associate Pastor of Family Life who is a follower of Jesus and lives in the power of the Holy Spirit. He will lead our Children’s Ministry, build relationships with young families and oversee the discipleship ministry of our youth. He must have a heart that is willing to chart new direction in his areas of responsibility, the ability to train others for service using their gifting, and the capacity to encourage healthy, loving relationships within the body of Christ. He must be a collaborator with our Senior Pastor and other staff to accomplish the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ.
His primary responsibilities will be to develop and direct the Children’s Ministry. This will involve working with the Children’s Ministry Team to plan and implement the children’s program. In this role, he will also work to build relationships with the young families and to help them enrich their marriages and family life skills. He will also oversee the discipleship development for the Youth Ministries and occasionally share in the Sunday worship responsibilities including preaching as needed. He must also be willing to accept other temporary responsibilities as necessary for the well-being of the church and the staff team.
To be able to carry out these responsibilities, he must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ who is led by the Holy Spirit. He must be confident in his leadership ability and able to enlist others to join the team doing the ministry work. He will need a college degree and have experience in discipleship ministry and/or a Master’s Degree from an accredited seminary. He needs to also have the personal and spiritual gifting necessary to accomplish this ministry. He must be teachable, motivated, and committed to serve the Lord as a pastor. He must be willing to collaborate on direction and implementation of the church vision with the Senior Pastor, staff, and church leadership. And he must encourage healthy loving relationships in the church family.
This is a full-time pastoral position with salary and benefits commensurate with education and experience.
