Religion Teacher at Episcopal High School (Houston)
Houston, TX 77401

Episcopal High School, founded and guided by the Diocese of Texas, is an inclusive and joyful Christian community where students discover and develop their individual talents through the Four Pillars – academics, arts, athletics, religion – preparing for meaningful lives in service to others. At EHS, students gather for daily worship in chapel and take a one-semester religion course each year. The religion courses offered are as follows: Old Testament, New Testament, World Religions, History of Western Culture and Belief, and Ethics.

For all teaching positions, EHS seeks candidates who will embrace and support the School’s Mission and its Diversity, Community, and Inclusion (DCI) Statement in providing opportunities for each student to reach his or her maximum spiritual, intellectual, social, and ethical potential. Because EHS’s teaching philosophy emphasizes understanding and responding to the individual needs and capabilities of each student, successful candidates are those with a demonstrated commitment to working effectively with young people and collaborating with colleagues, a strong educational background, a continual desire for professional growth, and a willingness to contribute to other areas of school life. EHS faculty are also committed to using technology effectively, regularly, and creatively to enhance student learning and facilitate course administration.

In addition, religion faculty are to safeguard and exhibit the strongest support for the core Christian beliefs and traditions of EHS, especially the Religion pillar and Chapel program.
